Renaissance Festival Boys and Girls Club
On July 15, 2016 a new era began beside an old building as the Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen broke ground on a new facility. Boys & Girls Clubs across the country offer a supervised place for kids after school or in the summer. On any given day this summer, you can find about 250 kids at the Aberdeen Boys & Girls Club. Executive director Michael Herman is thankful. "It's making sure the kids have a safe and enriching environment to operate in instead of going home after school and being alone for several hours or spending most of the summer alone when the parents are working.

"We provide a means for everybody in the community so that nobody has an excuse for their kids to be at home alone," Herman said.
We are proud to help support this great cause and with our partners CorTrust Mortgage and Chris Rawstern with A Harmony of Flavors.

How Much Can You Afford and What Will it Get You?

When it comes to buying a house, the numbers get so big they can start to lose meaning. You may pass on $2 generic toothpaste in favor of the $2.25 brand-name, but zeros can really add up when it comes to a home. You can’t buy a $225,000 home on a $200,000 budget, even if you do stick with that bargain-brand toothpaste and amortize it over 30 years. (Read more)

How to Negotiate Repairs After a Home Inspection

How to Negotiate Repairs After a Home Inspection

Most would-be buyers and sellers believe the real estate “deal” is negotiated at the signing of the contract. In many cases, the deal-making and negotiations only start at the contract signing. Even in more competitive real estate markets, negotiations still happen once in escrow. Issues typically arise after the home inspection, and those issues tend to result in another round of negotiations for credits or fixes. Here are three buyer tips for negotiating repairs after a home inspection. (Read more)
